Parties: Pharisees, Sadducees, Essenes, Zealots

here were more or less four "parties" (groups, sects) in Jesus' day. You will need to know them for your  quiz later (and listen carefully to video below for an intriguing way the parties may help  you as you

write your signature case study).  Watch this video, to get the basic idea of each (Ignore the reference to a textbook we no longer use, as this is an old video...by an old guy).  Important: note that you have been assigned to one of the four parties for assignments to come .   Take note of which party you belong to by the list below the video.  Maybe take initiative to group message your classmates to at least get acquainted.  Click "participants" to see the roster and message feature.

UPDATE: We will do minimal group work by party.  It will be something like: reply to a forum to two of your party mates, watch the video of one of your partymates.  See the "field trip" announcements for ideas on how to do church/service assignments together,

Optional extra credit:  As an individual poster , Post one interesting insight about your party below.  From what you heard about the four parties,  answer below whether this is the party you think you would belong to if you lived in Jesus' time, and why or why not?  Which one is most 'you' and why?
